We have some Federal Government Departments and Agencies that need to go. Some Departments that come to mind immediately are the Department of Agriculture, The Department of Education, Housing and Urban Development and the Department of Labor. Some others that need their mandates trimmed are the Department of Interior, Health and Human Services, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of State and Richard Nixon’s fiasco, the Environmental Protection Agency.
The Department of Agriculture was created in 1862 when our country was an agrarian society. We are well advanced past the need for the government to tell farmers what to grow and what prices to charge. Did you know the purpose of this department was to end hunger? They are also responsible for the forests. Do you suppose they interfere or work with the Department of Interior?
The Department of Education was created in 1979 under the Carter Administration. They have over 5,000 employees whose main job is to take money intended for education for our children to pay their salaries. Test scores and student knowledge have decreased each year this Department has been in existence. I do not think these people are worth the money we pay them.
The Department of Labor has become an organization that encourages unemployment. They ceased long ago being concerned about people that actually want to work. The Bureau of Labor Statistics is managed by this department and the statistics they report are to help both political parties hide the truth about the condition of the nation’s workforce.
Housing and Urban Development was created in 1965 during the Lyndon Johnson presidency. It has been corrupted to a community organizing group whose major function is to assure people in inner cities vote for the Democrat Party.
State needs to stop financing our enemies. Interior needs to stop taking land from the states to prevent energy production. Treasury need to dump the I.R.S. and get control of the Federal Reserve, whose job has become making the rich get richer and propping up Presidents that have poor economic policies. The VA needs to fire a chunk of managers that “cooked the books” to get bonus money. Speaking of bonus money, do you know anyone that deserves a bonus in our government?
I do not think I need to say anything about the EPA. Everyone knows they have become bad business.
Take a look at the website url below this paragraph. You will be amazed at the number of government agencies the federal government has created in this country. There are over 600 agencies on this list. Just take a look at the agencies that start with the letter “A” and you get an idea of how superfluous and redundant government agencies are. Once the Federal government creates anything, it never goes away, whether created by Congress or by Executive Order.
I am not saying all these agencies are bad, but I do think it would be worthwhile to have an agency whose assignment was to review other agencies and recommend ones for elimination. This agency should never go away, but the membership would need to change annually so the membership is only afflicted with minimal Washington corruption.
