Bloated Government

We have some Federal Government Departments and Agencies that need to go. Some Departments that come to mind immediately are the Department of Agriculture, The Department of Education, Housing and Urban Development and the Department of Labor. Some others that need their mandates trimmed are the Department of Interior, Health and Human Services, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of State and Richard Nixon’s fiasco, the Environmental Protection Agency.

The Department of Agriculture was created in 1862 when our country was an agrarian society. We are well advanced past the need for the government to tell farmers what to grow and what prices to charge. Did you know the purpose of this department was to end hunger? They are also responsible for the forests. Do you suppose they interfere or work with the Department of Interior?

The Department of Education was created in 1979 under the Carter Administration. They have over 5,000 employees whose main job is to take money intended for education for our children to pay their salaries. Test scores and student knowledge have decreased each year this Department has been in existence. I do not think these people are worth the money we pay them.

The Department of Labor has become an organization that encourages unemployment. They ceased long ago being concerned about people that actually want to work. The Bureau of Labor Statistics is managed by this department and the statistics they report are to help both political parties hide the truth about the condition of the nation’s workforce.

Housing and Urban Development was created in 1965 during the Lyndon Johnson presidency. It has been corrupted to a community organizing group whose major function is to assure people in inner cities vote for the Democrat Party.

State needs to stop financing our enemies. Interior needs to stop taking land from the states to prevent energy production. Treasury need to dump the I.R.S. and get control of the Federal Reserve, whose job has become making the rich get richer and propping up Presidents that have poor economic policies. The VA needs to fire a chunk of managers that “cooked the books” to get bonus money. Speaking of bonus money, do you know anyone that deserves a bonus in our government?

I do not think I need to say anything about the EPA. Everyone knows they have become bad business.

Take a look at the website url below this paragraph. You will be amazed at the number of government agencies the federal government has created in this country. There are over 600 agencies on this list. Just take a look at the agencies that start with the letter “A” and you get an idea of how superfluous and redundant government agencies are. Once the Federal government creates anything, it never goes away, whether created by Congress or by Executive Order.

I am not saying all these agencies are bad, but I do think it would be worthwhile to have an agency whose assignment was to review other agencies and recommend ones for elimination. This agency should never go away, but the membership would need to change annually so the membership is only afflicted with minimal Washington corruption.

What Difference Does It Make?

I hope this question keeps Hillary Clinton famous forever. I was hoping the Republican leadership in the Senate would not make it so obvious that they know the answer to the question is none. Mitch McConnell has made it clear he and Harry Reid are in unison. In essence Harry is still in charge of the Senate. Whatever Obama wants, Obama gets. John Boehner is making a pretense of showing a pair because his job as leader was put in jeopardy after the last election. He knows if he caves again he will lose his chairmanship after the next election. I have no doubt that both Republican leaders, McConnell and Boehner are trying very hard to fund the amnesty program.

What if they find a way not to do so? The question is the same. What difference does it make? A Texas judge stopped the official amnesty program while the Obama administration gives instructions to Border Patrol agents not to stop anyone that wants to come into the country illegally. Obama has found that lying works well for him. While he misdirects people by saying the right things, his minions are doing the exact opposite of what he says. His stonewalling of congressional oversight allows him to DICTATE as he wishes and irreversible damage will be done before he can be replaced in office.

That brings me to thinking about the next presidential election and my question remains, “What difference does it make?” If Hillary Clinton is elected, she will continue Obama’s damaging policies. If Jeb Bush is elected he will continue only most of Obama’s damaging policies.

The FCC which is a bureaucracy created by Congress is now able to pass new internet rules DICTATED by Obama without congressional oversight. The FCC chairman cannot even be compelled to testify before Congress or even be forced to give Congress a copy of the new rules before they become law. What difference does it make that Republicans won the Senate. Again the answer is none.

If we do not elect a President dedicated to making drastic changes to reduce federal government control over “we the people” and elect enough senators to give Republicans the ability to stop a filibuster we are going to be stuck on this downward path forever. This next election may be our last chance. Once all the illegal aliens and prisoners with early jail releases get the right to vote, we will never get another Republican elected for President in this country. But then again, what difference does it make?

Corruption

The Obama administration is the most secretive, obscure and corrupt administration I have witnessed in my lifetime. The corruption that has taken place under this president is unquestionable. Obama lies openly and he is consistent about it. The Democrats bribed states and Senators to pass Obamacare. They are still lying about the taxes and penalties contained in Obamacare. Obama ridicules anyone that says “death panels” that are clearly a part of the Obamacare law.

Eric Holder sues groups, companies and individuals around the country to solicit bribes (Democrats call them fines.) for not putting people in jail. The Ferguson, Missouri police department is his latest victim.

Remember the Obama administration refusing to make public the fact that Jeremiah Wright visited the White House many times in the first year of Obama’s presidency, then lying about it when the fact was divulged. They continuously hide White House visitor logs, so the public does not find out who they meet.

Remember the cover-up related to Fast and Furious. We still have not got the facts, because Obama and Holder keep using administrative tricks to hide e-mails from Holder’s office and the White House. The IRS conveniently lost all the e-mails from Lois Learner and any other person that discussed the IRS discrimination related to status of Tea Party groups. The cover up is continuing. Remember the cover-up for the Secret Service scandal for agents paying government money for prostitutes. Remember all the TSA scandals that have been covered up? Groping is the least of their offenses – they routinely hold people they consider political enemies for long periods time costing ordinary people money and loss of dignity. The CIA forbade anyone in Benghazi to answer questions before Congress after the fiasco of getting an American Ambassador and others killed. This administration hid the knowledgeable people from Benghazi for over two years, so they could not testify.

The DEA is continuously gathering phone information on American people without a court order. They use what is called administrative warrants that they issue themselves. Does this sound more and more like a police state to anyone but me?

The new attorney general nominee, Loretta Lynch seems to be cut out of the same mold as Eric Holder. At her Senate hearing it has been divulges that HSBC, the bank that has been laundering money for Mexican drug cartels and Mideast terrorist organizations was allowed to pay a bribe of $1.9 billion instead of sending anyone to jail. (Remember, Democrats call bribes fines.) The HSBC whistle-blower, John Cruz had provided evidence to the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security and the IRS about the HSBC illegal activities. Now all of these agencies are disavowing ever hearing from him. Unfortunately for them he recorded the conversations he had with each of these agencies.

Now we have corruption and obfuscation from the Justice Department, the White House, the CIA, the IRS, the FBI, the DHS and the DEA. And do not forget about the corruption at the VA.There is absolutely no one in this administration I would trust. The Democrats still like Obama – corruption is nothing new or bad as long as it is for their team.

Big Ideas

On October 15, 2014, I posted “My Presidential Candidate’s Platform” which states specific ideas I think the next President should use to get elected and govern the country. People do not get elected by a list of specifics, they get elected by espousing big ideas. In this post I am going to propose big ideas that a candidate could use to govern the country toward a better outcome.

  I.         Restore religious freedom in America.
II.         Restore family unity and family values, with focus on Black communities.
III.         Refocus the government to help people have better lives through achievement.

We seem to have declared open war on Christians in a country founded on Judeo-Christian values. As immigrants have come to America to find a better life, they brought with them many religions that have fewer followers than the Christians. Many religions are charged with converting others to their faith. They should be free to do so within reasonable limits. We also have a growing atheist population whose sole purpose seems to be the denigration of others, not increasing followers. Does this make sense to anyone?

The Constitution prevents the government from mandating a religion. The separation of church and state people fight for does not exist within our law, but by misguided practice. Religious holidays for government, industry and schools should consider all religions. This may mean no Christmas holidays or celebrations for groups that may include other religions. Churches and religious groups can find ways of celebrating within their own groups. We should consider having a national holiday that celebrates all religions.

We need a partnership with federal, state and city governments to address the drugs and gangs that threaten neighborhoods and families. Neighborhoods and city police should unite to address these problems. Counselors should be available through community organizations and churches in inner cities to encourage and promote families staying together and reducing the birthrate of unwed mothers. Education about and availability of contraceptives need to more prevalent to diminish the need for life-changing abortions. This may be the best way to demonstrate “Black Lives Matter”. The mantra should be changed to “All Lives Matter”.

The federal government needs to get out of the welfare business. Unemployment insurance and food assistance programs should be administered by states where they are close enough to the people to actually help people that want employment to find it and provide necessary assistance to people that cannot work or care for themselves. The federal government’s concentration should be on creating jobs for the middle class people in the country. Immigration should be tied to unemployment – less people employed should tell us that we need fewer immigrants. If the government in power decides they want more immigrants, they should find ways to create more jobs.

We need to stop spending the people’s money gathered through taxation to coerce people to vote for a particular constituency. Our money should only be used to fund necessary government functions and stop funding political functions. This alone will reduce the size of government by 40% and allow a balanced budget in the process. Help me make these big ideas known. Thank you.

Fudging the Numbers

I have written about Climate Change and Global Warming before. See my post called “Global Warming” posted on July 17, 2014.

One of the claims I made and still make is that there are no climate change scientists. The reason I make this claim is based on the definition of scientist. A scientist is a person who systematically searches for the truth. I do not think there are any global warming alarmists that have any interest in the truth.

I am raising the issue again because of an article I read from The Telegraph called “The Fiddling with temperature data is the biggest science scandal ever.” This article was written by Christopher Booker. It seems the US Government’s Global Historical Climate Network is charged with going around the world and “correcting” actual data to reflect what their computer models predict the temperature should be. Get it. Our government under President Barack Obama has no interest in the truth about weather data. They have agents in virtually every country going around changing actual temperature data to show their desired political result. This is not science. This is called lying.

Did you know NASA’s two main responsibilities are to promote Muslims and predict global warming? Space travel is a secondary responsibility for NASA under President Obama. The Global Historic Climate Network turns their fudged data over to the Goddard Institute for Space Studies and the National Climate Data Center for them to put in their computer models to predict the temperature for the next 100 years. Does it bother anyone that these agencies will still exist after President Obama leaves office, so we are guaranteed to get a political warming trend as long as these agencies exist?

Now we have perpetual lies built into our scientific weather gathering apparatus. Remember in 2009 the “climategate” scandal, when e-mails were published from East Anglia University discussing how the “scientists” were manipulating the data to show the earth was heating up. They claimed they lost the data they used to construct their model. Is this not pathetic?

I stick to my guns. There are no climate scientists. President Obama is consistent. He has lied many times to achieve his political aims, but now he has corrupted several government agencies to perpetuate his lies.

What to Say

I have not written on this blog in a few days because I do not know what to say. I am really exasperated about what is going on in this country and it appears the populace has lost control of our government. We keep sending the same representatives to Washington and they ignore what their constituents want. Large companies are laying off technical workers and lobbying Congress for more foreign workers. Many citizens are running out of unemployment money and are finally trying to go back to work. Illegal aliens are flooding the country and spreading childhood diseases. This problem is exacerbated by the fact that many families have stopped immunizing their children, because of irrational fears of the harm immunizations can do. Illegal aliens have taken most of the jobs available in the country for the last five years. We have over 120 Congresspersons that have a problem with paying their taxes.

Our President thinks Christians in the crusades 800 years ago were religious, but Muslims committing atrocities today are not religious. Houses are being built for second homes for the wealthy and no one can afford to build entry level homes – they cannot sell them for enough money to make the investment worthwhile. Conservatives would not vote for Mitt Romney or John McCain allowing the most liberal President in the history of our country to rule by decree. Many of my friends are on strike against oil companies at a time when oil prices are the lowest they have been in many years – really poor timing. A lot of things are just not making sense to me.

Black people are still marching in the street over two people that died at the hands of the police, all the while ignoring the myriad of Black kids that die daily at the hands of other Black kids. Inner city folks in poverty vote for Democrats whose policies guarantee they stay in poverty. The newspapers ignore all the foul ups caused by President Obama’s decisions and hammer Republicans about events that never happened, such as bridgegate and the war on women. Blacks re-elect Black politicians after they get out of jail for corruption. It appears the only criteria Blacks are interested in is race. Does this make them racists? What are we doing?

We have too many people that think nothing will change, no matter what we do. We have way too many people that are living a comfortable life and uninterested in getting involved in anything that might disrupt their comfort.

As Americans we should stop reading newspapers that do not report the truth. We should stop watching TV news presented by known liars. We should stop voting for people who will not follow our will. We should fight racism, even if the perpetrator is Eric Holder. We should stop thinking about voting FOR candidates, we should start thinking about what the outcome will be if we do not vote for a better choice – yes that means vote against bad guys. We should hold on to our Judeo-Christian values and fight for Christians to have the same rights as other religions are afforded in this country. We should elect people that will enforce the law. We should elect people that are committed to changing Washington. We should stop the apathy. We should mobilize to take our country back. Get vocal. Get louder. Have a say about our future. Be uncomfortable for a while and make it known.

State v Federal

After getting past the headlines for super bowl errors, poor coaching decisions and fighting on the field, we return to earth to discover some Republicans think vaccinations are a choice that should be left up to the parents. Chris Christie and Rand Paul are being hammered by the media for their positions on vaccinations and they keep skipping the simple answer. Christie should have said is in New Jersey we are letting each school district set their own rules about preventable childhood illnesses. Rand Paul should say he is a United States senator and he may run for president and immunization for children is clearly not a federal case. This issue belongs with the state and local governments.

We have a lot of problems in this country because people in Washington want to make laws that cover everyone in the country. This is stupid and unconstitutional. People should be governed by the people closest to them. Roe Vs Wade is a prime example of an issue that should have been resolved at the state level. Because federal courts got involved, it became a national issue and it has been a matter of contention for forty years. The Federal courts have gotten involved in the same sex marriage issue and even over ruled a vote by Californians to make same sex marriage legal. That pretty much guarantees we will be arguing same sex marriage for the next fifty years. The George W Bush administration went to court to prevent the family and doctors actually involved in the case from withdrawing life support from Terri Shivo.

I am not stating a position on abortion or same sex marriage. Personally I think the abortion decisions should belong to families and family doctors. Gay marriage is an issue I really do not have a strong opinion about, but I do not think it should be a federal issue – it should be handled by individual states. I am fairly sure George had no personal knowledge about Terri Shivo and he should have said it was an issue that belonged to Florida and the decisions should be made locally. My feeling is the ex-husband had the most knowledge about what Terri wanted to happen. I know I want my wife Kathi making end of life decisions for me. She definitely knows me better than anyone else and has the best chance of making the decision I would want.

We have state laws covering murder, robbery, mischief, vandalism and inflicting bodily harm. Then along came a cases where some people did not like the punishments meted out by the states, so they started making hate crime laws. The Civil Right Act of 1964, the Violent Crime Control & Law Enforcement Act of 1994 and the Mathew Shepherd and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009 are examples of hate crimes laws at the federal level. Now anytime anyone thinks a perpetrator did not receive a proper punishment by the state, the federal government can come in and inflict their own punishment. This is a slight of hand way to legalize double jeopardy. Do you really think anyone in Washington cares what is legal? Now federal judges and prosecutors can postulate what a person was thinking when they committed a crime. Is this not asinine?

Our Constitution is very clear that the federal government has enumerated powers outlined in Article I, Section 8. All other powers belong to the states. We need to get the federal government back to doing federal government business and stay out of state business. We need to start today. Someone please tell Rand Paul and Rush Limbaugh, so he can pass the word. Thanks.
